With so much preparation, learning, growth, and practice throughout the college years of life, it’s easy for students to be convinced that they must emerge from higher education as fully-baked professionals that hold a detailed image of their entire future.
Last week, I joined the Leeds Consulting Group at the University of Colorado Boulder for a BusinessOutside workshop that investigated this concept – that lives don’t need to be designed around a series of impressive-sounding benchmarks, but instead ought to be driven by a considered set of personal values and your Zone of Genius.
It was such a thrill to observe how the BusinessOutside exercises we use to generate more intentional purpose for C-suite executives and world-class business owners can apply to this future generation of leadership. It has inspired me, and has reminded me to never cease the pursuit of growth.
Life is a continuous adventure and source of learning. Whether you’re a student or adult, if someone tells you they “have it all figured out”, know that they also have some learning to do.
